The Approach

The Psychodynamic approach to counselling is based on the idea that some of our thoughts and feelings may have originated in our childhood and past experiences, and are out of our current awareness. This could explain why we cannot always rationally understand why we feel or act in a certain way.

 

Aided by the relationship with a trusted professional, we can gain insight into our unconscious processes, which helps us recognise how they contribute to our current feelings, behaviours and relationships.

Psychodynamic counselling is a journey into our deeper self, which guides us towards being more in control of our emotional well-being.
